How do I charge overtime?

Sometimes a guest is enjoying your space so much that they decide they want to extend the length of their booking. It is always your choice whether to extend this option to them. If you decide to offer overtime, let the guest know when time is almost up and how much you charge. Be sure to confirm with the guest what this amount will be to avoid any miscommunication.

Note: Overtime and other charges must be reported less than 72 hours after the booking ends.

At the conclusion of each booking, you’ll receive an email with the subject line “How did it go with {Guest Name}? Any extra charges?”. To charge your guest for overtime, click the “Report Overtime” button and enter the number of hours (30 minute increments) as well as the rate you’d like to charge. You have the option to charge 1x or 1.5x your hourly rate.

For example, if your space is $100 per hour and your guest stays 1 hour over, you will have the option to charge $100 (1x hourly rate) or $150 (1.5x hourly rate).

If you need to report damages or any other charges, such as additional services you provided, click the “Report Other Charges” button.

When you submit the overtime charge, it will be sent to your guest for confirmation. The guest will have 48 hours to review and then will be charged. Payouts are automatically deposited into the bank account you have on file.

If the booking is a custom offer, the overtime rates available to you will not reflect the custom price. In this case, you can charge the guest your typical hourly rate or charge a custom rate by contacting support at help@peerspace.com.
