When a host accepts a booking request, they're essentially reserving their space for that guest and not considering other booking requests. So, if a guest cancels, it can create challenges for the host, especially as the booking date gets closer and it becomes harder to rebook the space. Of course, we understand that plans can change for our guests, and sometimes a cancellation is necessary.
To strike a balance, we’ve created a cancellation policy that offers flexibility for guests while also protecting the host, who’s committed to reserving their space
As long as a cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the booking start time, a guest may cancel a booking within 24 hours of the booking's confirmation without further obligation. If a booking is made in this 48 hour timeframe, or the cancellation is made more than 24 hours after it has been confirmed by the host, then the following cancellation and refund rules apply to guests. Likewise, the host will be entitled to a portion of their payout depending on what policy they have selected and when the cancellation occurs. In all cancellations, Peerspace retains our customary fees. All of this is outlined in the following tables:

Refunds
Refunds to guests will only apply when a cancellation request has been formally submitted through the Peerspace platform. Please pay careful attention to the cancellation policy before completing a booking request so you are aware of the refunds eligible in the event of a cancellation.
Cleaning fees are always refunded if a guest cancels a booking and does not use the space.
Cancellations by hosts
While rare, we understand that when a host cancels a confirmed booking, the guest’s event and plans can be severely impacted and may require intensive logistical support from Peerspace. If a host cancels a confirmed booking, Peerspace reserves the right to fully refund the guest and may apply penalties to the host’s account.
