Why should I keep transactions and communications only through Peerspace?

At Peerspace, we view our relationship with hosts as a partnership. We invest in marketing your space, connecting you with qualified guests, securely processing payments, and providing support throughout the booking process. To protect both hosts and guests, all inquiries and bookings that originate on Peerspace must remain on the platform through completion.

Keeping everything on-platform ensures your booking is backed by Peerspace's built-in protections, including:

When communication or payment moves off-platform, these protections may no longer apply, and Peerspace cannot verify or support the booking.

Important Policy Reminder

As outlined in the Peerspace Services Agreement and Community Guidelines, inquiries and bookings that originate on Peerspace must be completed and paid through Peerspace. This includes:

  • Space rental fees

  • Overtime charges

  • Add-ons and additional services

  • Equipment rentals

  • Any other charges associated with a Peerspace booking

Our systems automatically monitor for attempts to move bookings or payments off-platform. In some cases, messages containing contact information or language suggesting an off-platform transaction may be blocked or flagged for review.

Peerspace has zero tolerance for off-platform bookings. Hosts who direct guests to communicate, book, or pay outside of Peerspace or whose activity demonstrates a pattern of attempting to move bookings off-platform may be subject to enforcement actions. This includes repeated contact sharing or site visits that consistently do not result in bookings being completed through Peerspace. As permitted under the Peerspace Services Agreement, this may include:

  • Warning notices

  • Assessment of liquidated damages or other applicable fees

  • Deactivation of listings or accounts

  • Permanent suspension from the Peerspace marketplace

Phone Calls & Site Visits

We understand that some bookings may require a phone conversation or site visit before a guest is ready to book. These interactions are permitted when they help a guest evaluate your space, not to move the booking off of Peerspace.

Our goal is to make these interactions easier while keeping the entire booking journey on Peerspace. Currently in-app voice and video calling is available for certain conversations to better support hosts and guests communication. If you schedule a phone call or site visit, we recommend:

  • Add a video tour to your listing to reduce the need for in-person visits.

  • After the call or tour, follow up in the Peerspace message thread with a summary of what was discussed.

  • Send the guest an Invite to Book so they can review and accept the booking with just one click through Peerspace, ensuring both parties remain protected throughout the reservation.

Our enforcement is focused on protecting the integrity of the marketplace, not preventing legitimate site visits. However, repeated off-platform communication or site visits that consistently do not result in bookings through Peerspace may be reviewed and could result in enforcement action.

What if a guest wants to book directly?

If a guest asks to communicate outside of Peerspace or pay you directly, simply let them know that all bookings originating on Peerspace must be completed through the platform. You may also report the user to Peerspace directly.

By keeping communications and transactions on-platform, you help maintain a trusted marketplace while ensuring every eligible booking receives the protections and support Peerspace provides.
