Message Templates Feature

Updated this week

What is the message template tool?

The message template tool allows hosts to save and reuse messages they send frequently to guests. This feature helps you respond quickly and consistently to common inquiries, booking confirmations, check-in instructions, and other routine communications.

Where can I find the message template tool?

The message template tool is located in your inbox. When you're viewing a conversation with a guest, look for the + icon at the bottom of the message thread where you compose messages.

How do I create a new message template?

  • Open a thread and start a conversation in your inbox

  • Click the + icon at the bottom of the message thread

  • Select "Message templates" from the menu

  • Click "Create new template" button

  • Enter a template name (required) - use a descriptive name so you can easily find it later

  • Write your message in the content field

  • Save your template

  • You can also edit and delete message templates from here

Note: All templates must have a title to be saved.

How do I use a saved template?

Simply open the message template and select which one you want to send. Once you click the message, the message will be applied to the message thread and you can edit it to add names and personalize the message and send.

What types of messages should I create templates for?

As a host, you should use templates for any messages you find yourself sending regularly. The goal of the feature is to prevent the need to re-type the same content over and over. Some ideas for template types:

  • Arrival instructions - Access codes, parking details, and check-in procedures

  • Welcome messages - Greet new guests after they book

  • Booking confirmations - Confirm details and next steps

  • Thank you messages - Follow up after events to request reviews

  • Check-out reminders - Share departure procedures

  • Frequently asked questions - Answer common questions about WiFi, amenities, equipment, etc.

  • House rules reminders - Communicate important policies
