Host-initiated cancellations can significantly inconvenience guests and reflect poorly on the trust and security of our marketplace.
Hosts cancelling bookings may be responsible for costs incurred by Peerspace or the Guest associated with any cancellation. The Peerspace team will notify hosts if incurred costs from a host-initiated cancellation are reported.
Additionally, Host-initiated cancellations can result in penalties, which can include fines, suspension of your listings, and termination of your account.
Cancellations due to extenuating circumstances
Peerspace may allow a Hosts to cancel a confirmed Booking due to extenuating circumstances (e.g., conditions that arise after a Booking has been confirmed and with minimal notice prior to the scheduled Event) (an “Excused Cancellation”). Peerspace may require Hosts to provide evidence to support an Excused Cancellation. No payout will be sent to the Host.
Instant Booking Cancellations
Some of the reasons hosts may cancel an Instant Booking penalty free:
- Your guest has several unfavorable reviews that warrant concern
- Your guest books for an activity that you do not allow in your listing
- Your guest does not answer questions in a timely manner over Peerspace messaging
- Your guest communicates something that indicates they are going to break your Host Rules
If you cancel more than 3 Instant Bookings, we may turn off this feature in your listings.
Bookings that violate Peerspace Social Events Policy
Hosts can cancel reservations without penalties if they present us evidence that shows the guest may violate our Social Events Policy. Such as message threads or previous reviews that mention parties, flyers posted on other websites or social media, etc.
Cancellations beyond the reasons provided above may be subject to a penalty. For details on penalties applied for host-initiated cancellations, please familiarize yourself with the full Cancellation and Refund Policy.
For any clarification on penalties, please reference the full Cancellation and Refund Policy.
