When you book a space on Peerspace, the total cost may include a few different types of charges set by the host. These charges cover the use of the space as well as any additional services or equipment you choose to add to your booking.
Understanding these pricing components can help you review listings and know exactly what to expect before booking.
1. Base booking price (space rental)
Every Peerspace listing has a base price, typically shown as an hourly rate.
This price gives you access to the space and the amenities included in the listing. Amenities shown in the listing—such as furniture, lighting, restrooms, heating, or air conditioning—are generally included in the base price and cannot be charged separately.
Hosts may also set:
A minimum number of hours
Different pricing depending on activity type (production, events, meetings)
Pricing based on number of attendees
Pricing based on day and time of the week
These details appear in the listing before you book.
2. Cleaning fees
Some hosts charge a cleaning fee that is added to the booking total.
This fee helps cover the cost of preparing the space before and after your booking. It typically includes tasks like trash removal, sweeping, mopping, and resetting the space for the next guest.
Cleaning fees are shown during checkout and are usually charged once per booking.
3. Optional add-ons
Many hosts offer optional add-ons, which are extra services or equipment you can choose to include in your booking. Examples may include:
Audio or production equipment
Furniture or prop rentals
Catering or refreshments
Photography services
Setup or staffing services
Site visit fees before booking
These add-ons are optional and will only be added to your total if you select them. Hosts can price add-ons per item, per hour, per person, or as a flat fee.
4. Additional charges during or after a booking
In some cases, additional charges may occur if the booking exceeds what was originally agreed upon. These may include:
Overtime
If your booking runs longer than the reserved time, hosts may charge overtime based on the hourly rate.
Damage or excessive cleanup
Guests are responsible for damage or misuse of the space during their booking.
Exceeding the maximum capacity
Additional charges may apply if the number of attendees exceeds the listing’s allowed capacity.
What hosts cannot charge for
Hosts cannot charge extra for basic amenities that are expected to be included with the space. For example, the following should generally be included in the base price:
Heating or air conditioning
Restrooms
Standard furniture shown in listing photos
Basic access to the space
Add-ons are meant for optional upgrades, not basic features required to use the space. If a host attempts to charge unexpected fees that are not clearly described in the listing, please contact Peerspace Support.
Other fees on your booking
In addition to host charges, Peerspace applies a guest processing fee during checkout. This fee helps cover platform operations, payment processing, and customer support. You’ll always see the full breakdown of costs before confirming your booking.
Tips for reviewing listing pricing
Before booking, we recommend:
Reviewing the Pricing section of the listing
Checking any available add-ons
Reading the Host Rules for additional details
Confirming the total cost at checkout
This helps ensure there are no surprises when planning your event or production.
Peerspace’s standard guest and host fees apply. Make sure you are familiar with our cancellation policy and payment process.
