How do I add charges to a booking after it has been accepted?

If details change after a booking is confirmed, you may need to add charges to the reservation. This can happen if the guest requests additional services or equipment before the booking takes place.

Hosts can add these charges directly through the booking on Peerspace. Submitting charges through the platform helps keep payments secure, ensures the request is properly documented, and keeps your booking protected with Peerspace host coverage.


Adding charges to an existing booking

(Before the event takes place)

You can update the date, time, and price (including the space subtotal, cleaning fee, and any add-ons) up to 2 hours before the booking starts.

How to update booking details

  1. Open the booking details page on your Bookings tab

  2. Select Add charges

  3. Enter the amount and description

  4. Submit the update for the guest to review

The guest will receive a notification and can approve the updated total. If the guest does not approve the booking update, the booking will remain active at the original approved cost.

Additional charges are processed differently depending on if the event has occurred yet or not. Payments to hosts are sent via direct deposit to your bank account on file with us or our third-party partner in certain instances (i.e. reimbursements paid via our Property Damage Guarantee).

Please note: Peerspace is unable to pursue or support arbitrary fines. Arbitrary fines are fines with an unspecified or unverifiable third party value. Third party receipts/invoices/estimates to substantiate the requested costs are required.

Examples of arbitrary fines include but are not limited to:

  • Penalty/Inconvenience Fines

  • Smoking fees

  • Confetti/Glitter usage

  • Furniture Rearrangement

  • Additional Cleaning

  • Trash Removal

  • Billing of your own time/labor

  • Potential lost revenue
