User Reviews Policy

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Peerspace is a marketplace built on trust. We rely on honest, authentic reviews to help both hosts and guests understand the needs and capabilities of the community. To ensure reviews remain helpful and fair, we have established guidelines for all user-generated content.

In addition to our Content Guidelines, Peerspace reserves the right to remove reviews that meet any of the criteria below.

What We Don’t Allow

1. Reviews that are not based on a real experience

Reviews must be representative of a personal experience with a host/their space or guest. We will remove reviews if:

  • The booking was canceled: Reviews must be based on a booking that was intended to execute. If a booking was cancelled or rescheduled, the review is subject to removal. Should there be a no-show, reviews will also be removed for the party who no-showed.

  • Fraudulent or Biased Reviews: To maintain platform integrity, reviews must represent genuine, third-party experiences. We will remove self-authored reviews from hosts and feedback from guests whose bookings were not made for legitimate stay purposes.

2. Factually disproven or retaliatory reviews

To maintain the integrity of our marketplace, we will remove reviews when objective documentation is presented that proves:

  • The review is false: Documentation definitively disproves the claims made within the review.

  • The review is retaliatory: The review was submitted specifically to punish a user for a valid action (e.g., a host filing a damages reimbursement request) or as an attempt to extort a user for a discount or refund.

3. Irrelevant or biased content

The best reviews provide constructive feedback that benefits the community. We will remove reviews that:

  • Reference third parties: Reviews that focus on the quality of a vendor or service not provided by the host (e.g., an outside catering company or a transportation service).

  • Reference disputes: Reviews may not reference open Peerspace investigations or pending dispute claims. All such claims must be settled via our dedicated Dispute Resolution team

4. Inappropriate or harmful content

Peerspace has a zero-tolerance policy for content that threatens the safety of our community or users. This includes:

  • Hate Speech & Harassment: Content that promotes discrimination, bigotry, or threats of harm.

  • Violations of Privacy: Reviews that include full names, phone numbers, physical addresses, or close-up photos of individuals without their permission.

For a full overview of prohibited content that would be subject to removal, please refer to our Community Guidelines here.

How Reviews are Moderated

If you believe a review violates this policy or you have documentation to demonstrate that a review should be removed, please contact our Support Team. Our Customer Experience team will review all supporting documentation provided and make a final determination. To ensure the integrity of our community feedback, Peerspace does not mediate the accuracy of reviews without conclusive documentation. We will only consider the removal of a review if one or more of the following materials are provided:

  • Peerspace Messages: Communication sent directly through the Peerspace platform.

  • Time-Stamped Photos/Video: Visual evidence that verifies the condition or state of the space at the time of the booking.

  • Official Receipts or Invoices: Documentation for professional services or repairs related to the booking.
