How to make the most out of Peerspace
Welcome to Peerspace! We’re so glad to have you here and can’t wait to see the magic you create at your first booking. To ensure a flawless booking experience, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide on how to get started, common mistakes to avoid, and important reminders. Let’s dive in:
Getting Started:
- Create your Peerspace profile - Create an account and complete your profile registration by uploading a profile photo and verifying your email and phone number.
- Search for the perfect space - Search for spaces seamlessly and narrow down these results with some (or many!) of the filters we have to choose from. You can also zoom in/out and move around the search map area to hone in on a specific area you’d like to book in. You can even make your perfect vision board when you find spaces you like! Click the heart icon on the space and this will allow you to save this to your Favorites Board. These boards are collaborative - so feel free to send them to any friends who are helping out on the search.
- Message the host - We know how complicated planning a booking can get. No matter how detailed a host’s listing is, you still might have questions you want to ask before moving forward. With Peerspace, you can open up an inquiry with the host, which is not financially-binding, by clicking the “Message Host” button on their listing page.
- Reserve your space - Time to commit! Once you’ve found your dream space and are ready to take that leap, you’ll put in your booking details and click “Request to Book” or, “Book Now”, if the space has Instant Book enabled. Otherwise, you will send a booking request to the host, who will have 2 business days to accept or decline the request before it expires. Once the request is accepted, you will be all set!
- IMPORTANT NOTE: When you place your request to book, an authorization hold will be placed on your card. This might look like a pending or processing charge, but don’t worry - totally normal! This will be returned to you if declined or expired.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Duplicate Bookings - By sending a booking request, you are signaling to the host that you are ready to be confirmed, and they are able to accept this request at any time. For this reason, we advise only having 1 active booking request sent at a time, to avoid multiple hosts confirming your request. Should this happen, you may not always be eligible for a full refund if you need to cancel (based on the cancellation policy on the booking)
- Offline Transactions & Communication - Safety alert! Make sure you are keeping all transactions and communication on the Peerspace platform. These policies are designed to ensure a safe and positive experience for both hosts and guests, while also allowing our team to assist in resolving disputes, should they arise.
- Last minute bookings - We totally get it - sometimes last minute bookings are unavoidable! It’s not secret, though, that last-minute bookings can be tricky for everyone involved. Hosts need time to get everything just right, and with short notice, it’s tough to pull that off. To make sure your stay is as awesome as possible, we recommend planning ahead a bit. That way, they’ve got plenty of time to roll out the red carpet!
Important Reminders
- Grace Period Policy - All bookings are subject to Peerspace’s Grace Period policy which provides a full refund, despite the cancellation policy on the booking, so long as the booking is canceled within 24 hours of booking confirmation, and the start time is more than 48 hours away.
- Cancellation Policy - Outside of the Grace Period policy, any cancellation will be governed by the cancellation policy the booking was confirmed under. Prior to booking, you can view the cancellation policy on the listing’s page as well as during check out.
- Authorization Holds - When you send a booking request, you’ll notice a pending charge post to your card. This is a temporary hold that’s placed on the card just to ensure funds are ready, should the request be accepted. If the request is expired or declined, the funds are immediately released on our side but can take a couple days to reflect back into your account.
